3.d in China

We are walking between skyscrapers and renovated temples in Hangzhou and Shanghai. When we arrived on the 2nd of September the warm weather was the first thing to notice. After a long and exhausting 2 hour bus drive to our partner school 浙江大学附属中学,(The High School Attached To Zhejiang University) in Hangzhou, we were greeted with open arms by our Chinese host families. The weekend was spent together with out host families, who showed us everything from horror-houses to gigantic water gardens, lots of delicious restaurants and at last we exchanged gifts.

Monday was our first day in Chinese school, where we had our own program with papir clipping, calligraphy and a tour of the gigantic campus. The next couple of days we got a performance by Chinese students who played classical Chinese instruments, played football against the school’s own team and visited the tourist attraction West Lake, which looked like some of the amazing landscapes you see on Game of Thrones. The last day in Hangzhou was spent with our Chinese friends, who gave us special Chinese food such as vinegar marinated chicken feet and rotten eggs. The next couple of days where spent i Shanghai looking at tourist attractions and singing karaoke.

In contrast to Denmark, public transportation is never late and is very cheap, but every time you have to take the train, you have to go through security. If you stayed away from western restaurants, the food was very cheap.

Best Greetings
