Memories from our trip to India

September 9th, 2019 was for 3.w the start of what would come to be an experience for life. We started our journey in Copenhagen Airport at 9:30 am and 17 hours later we were at Mumbai Airport at 5:00 am on the 10th. But the trip was not over yet, as we also had to go by bus to Pune approx. 3-4 hours from Mumbai

The first 4 days in Pune were spent with our host families. In that time we came very close to the Indian culture. There were, of course, many similarities between the families. Among other things the fact that a bath was done with a bucket of hot water and a small bucket for pouring. Other things like traditions, cooking and family dynamics shifted from family to family.

During our home stay we all got to experience a lot. The highlight for many, however, was Ganpati, or in English Ganesh Festival on the 12th. Here families told us that about 1 million of Pune's total population of 3.1 million were on the streets to celebrate the big day. During the festival you could see everything from orchestras to the asphalt decorated with patterns and images made of colorful powder, also called Rangoli. And finally of course, the large sculptures of the god Ganesha, which was to be driven through the city to the closest river and immersed in the water.

On the last day of the farewell dinner, all girls and boys wore traditional Indian clothing. You borrowed it from your host family, or else they brought you shopping, so you had the opportunity to buy it yourself (for almost no money).

Sunday the 15th at 10:30 am, the trip went back to Mumbai. Here we’ll spend the next 4 days procuring material for our GCP film. Mumbai is a much larger city, however, the crowd feels like pretty much the same ... The prices here are a little higher, but on the other hand there are a lot more touristy places to visit. We look forward to the next few days and look forward to sharing our experiences through our films.
