RysMUN 2025
On April 3rd and 4th, 2025, Rysensteen Gymnasium was transformed into an international diplomatic arena as this year’s RysMUN conference unfolded.
RysMUN (Model United Nations) is a student-led UN simulation where young people from around the world come together to debate, negotiate, and seek solutions to some of today’s most pressing global challenges.
The conference opened with inspiring speeches from former Minister of Foreign Affairs Martin Lidegaard, Clement Kjersgaard, Principal Gitte Harding Transbøl, and RysMUN’s Secretary General Andrea from class 3.f. Their words set the tone for the intense debates and negotiations that followed over the next two days.
In the committees, topics such as the fentanyl crisis and LGBTQ+ rights in the Middle East were discussed. Over the course of the conference, the students successfully negotiated peace in the Arctic and facilitated the admission of the Vatican City as an official member of the UN.
At the closing ceremony, the students’ remarkable dedication was celebrated, and awards for “Best Delegate” and “Honorable Mention” were presented to outstanding participants.
The evening concluded with our traditional closing dinner, where international guests from Argentina, Spain, Egypt, Canada, Greenland, Croatia, Germany, and France were in attendance. During the dinner, students performed songs from their home countries that held special personal significance.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the teachers and students, both from Rysensteen and our partner schools, for your commitment to promoting democracy, dialogue, and solutions to global challenges.
We are already looking forward to next year!
