Other international partnerships

In addition to the 15 partner schools that the students visit on their GCP exchange visits, Rysensteen also has a number of partnerships with international schools and organisations.

Some of these are schools that the students have the possibility to visit during their first or second school year outside of the regular GCP curriculum. Read more about the partnerships with these schools by following the links below:

Partner organisations

The Global Citizenship Programme at Rysensteen Gymnasium can only succeed with the support of the strong forces in our network. Through the history of Rysensteen and the Global Citizenship Programme, we have collaborated with a long series of partners consisting of NGOs, universities, study programmes and other institutions, who inspire us and share our goal of educating global citizens. We also like to draw on other parts of our network, including students’ parents and personal contacts, from time to time. We also apply for funds to cover the costs of international activities and events with the help of special partners.

First and foremost, Copenhagen University has been a very important partner with, amongst others, The Saxo Institute and The Institute for Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies (ToRS), with whom we have had arrangements of internships. Additionally, The Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS), the Danish-Egyptian Dialogue Institute (DEDI) and the Erasmus Programme have also been collaborators as well as inspirations, through the history of the Global Citizenship Programme.

The UN City in Copenhagen is also a frequent collaborator that our first year students visit every year as the culmination of their introductory GCP-course on the UN. You can read more about the UN-introduction course here or read about Rysensteen's work with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals here.

Furthermore, we also have partnerships with several organizations overseas, such as the NGO Project Rousseau in New York, which one of our classes visit on their GCP-travels to New York every year. You can read more about our partnership with Project Rousseau here.

Recently we have also started a student-led fundraising-project with the NGO PlanBørnefonden, where each class at Rysensteen sponsor a child throughout. You can read more about the project here.

Future partnerships

Last but not least, we are always looking for new international partners to expand our horizons and broaden the possibilities of educating global citizens.
